Weekly Meal Plan 5/4 - 5/10

Good evening!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and relaxing weekend. The tempurature reached 80 degrees in Wisconsin and it was so wonderful to be in the warmth and play.

On Friday, we stopped at a local bar for a co-worker's goodbye party before heading home for a late dinner after Kellen went to bed.  The bar has a delicious munchie basket with cheese curds, fries, chicken, mac and cheese bites and onion rings and it was a tasty (deep fried) treat to share, and it kept us full until dinner was served after 9:00 p.m.!  Ron and I really like the show Stalker and we somehow missed 5 episodes in February when we thought the show was on break. Thankfully, we were able to get the episodes and have enjoyed watching them (not being about the sleep at night, this weekend.

On Saturday, Kellen and I were up early with Ron who has to work at 6:00 a.m. We headed to the grocery store and finished our shopping before heading out for fun with friends. Bay Beach is a small amusement park in Green Bay. The park has fun, rides and is very reasonably priced (with not entry fee).  We met our friends Emily and her daughter for the opening day! One of the first things we wanted to do was ride the train because they added a new car, but it broke down right when we got to the front of the line so we opted to check out a few other rides instead of waiting with two toddlers.

The race cars were a biiiiiggggg hit with my little guy:

The two kids also loved the carousel:

After Bay Beach we headed home to make lunch and wait for my sister and nephew to stop over for a little TOP SECRET mother's day projects.  We had asian style burgers for lunch and the boys munched on that and a little egg noodles and cheese.  After lunch the boys had a blast playing on Kellen's new swing set (this picture is a little old because we added a glider a few days later).

After my sister left, Kellen went down for a nap and I cleaned up the house, relaxed with a t.v. show and worked on my garden grid for when we plant in 2 weeks. Ron got home late afternoon and we scrambled to get down to Appleton to grab dinner with Ron's parents for his mother's birthday.  We wanted Italian and my favorite place was full due to prom night and we settled on Buca Di Beppo. We all enjoyed our pasta, but the portions were enormous!! Kellen loved his spaghetti (per usual) and gobbled down a bit of garlic bread as well:

On Sunday, I ran to the gym for a quick workout before returning home to focus on yard work. I hate yard work, but love being outside.  I got my plants all cleaned up and partially mulched..... more of that this week...joy. The upside was planting Kellen's bean plants. He had two growing in a bag from the Big Event for Little Kids and from daycare. We potted them and he even wore his Micky Mouse gardening gloves- he also helped me clear away leaves.

Here we are clearing leaves and getting ready to spread mulch:

We opted not to cook dinner and ordered sub sandwiches and Ron is getting Kellen ready for bed before we have a little relaxation time. The air has cooled a bit and it seems that a rain shower may be on it's way soon! Have a lovely night!

This week we do not have a lot on the agenda, but are going to work on the yard a bit more, hit the gym, play volleyball, go to the park and hopefully get over to the wildlife sanctuary to feed the ducks and geese.  Relaxing weeks are great for re-charging the batteries!
